We’ve gathered some of the best design tips on how to make the most of a small living room, without sacrificing style or comfort.
Maximize Your Space With These Window Tricks
The best way to start is to think of the little things you can do to maximize your space. Hang your window coverings higher than the window frame to make the ceilings seem taller, and the room more spacious. This is a design trick that doesn’t require you to purchase anything, and it will work every time. Installing smart lighting on the walls or ceilings will save space and add the convenience of operating your lights with your voice or mobile device. Natural light is another easy way to make a room feel more open. You can achieve this by using sheer shades or roller shades that disappear into the headrail when raised completely. Hang any artwork above eye level to continue drawing attention upward.
Multipurpose Furniture Saves Space
Next, find ways to use one item for multiple purposes. An ottoman can double as a small table or seating, and many coffee tables open to reveal ample storage space. Nesting tables are easy to pull out when they are needed and stow away when not in use.
